Bio

Donal Murphy is a self taught photographer, born and raised in Forkhill in South Armagh. He lives between his home village and Dublin were he works full time as a focus puller in film and drama.
Donal’s photography is influenced and inspired by observation and the environment around him. He has pictures published in the Guardian and Times in the UK and has had his first magazine cover in early 2021 for the Irish Examiner weekend Magazine.

In winter 2021 Donal will release his first photography book titled “ The Classic Route, Iran and Iranians. He is also currently working on his next project “What was left behind” documenting the effects and remains the British watchtowers had on the local community of South Armagh and the soldiers who were stationed in them.
